Animals: Horses, Cows, Dogs, Cats, One pig
Pastures: 100. Each four acres.
Feeding: Each horse fed hay all day long and grain twice a day.
Watering: fresh spring water refilled daily.
Our Animals:
Bessy: Bessy is our only pig. Unlike most pigs, she is quite friendly. Some kids come by just to pet her. We use her for her piglets, who we inturn sell. She produces great piglets and in return she gets the farmhouse scraps!
J.C: J.C is one of our five cats. He is the "leader" in their little pack. He is not one that likes to cuddle. He takes his job, as head mouser, seriously and never stops to take a rest.
Oreo: Oreo is one of our shyer barn cats. He usually doesn't let people touch him, but if you are kind and gentle you can get close enough to stroke his soft coat. He doesn't mouse often, but when he does, he always catches his prey.
Cotton: Cotton is so spoiled, she lives inside. She never touches mice, so she surely doesnt' earn her keep. She is so darn friendly and cute though, that Cat couldnt' bear getting rid of her.
Spice: Spice often gets in fights with J.C. The two battle constantly for head position. Spice had never actually gotten to lead, but J.C is getting old and Spice could have his chance soon!
Dixie: Dixie is sweet and caring, but she is also the best mouser here. She can move like lighting and her slightly big coat never slows her down. She is lead female here, and knows it. she bosses everyone around, as well as her mate, J.C. The two produce tons of kittens who Cat sells.
Marley: Yes. We have 20 dogs here. Each has at least a small job. Marley is always a joy to have around. He never stops wagging his fluffy tail and attracts customers. He is also on our advertisement sign.
Paige: Paige is a basset hound. She is really sweet. She hangs out with cats and is a skilled rat catcher. she lives in the barn and is always on the lookout for little black rodents.
Dandy: Dandy is one of our smaller dogs. Despite her size, she is actually a GREAT guard dog! She scares away all potential robbers.
Houston: Houston is always on the go. She brings back rabbits and other small game. She is the ebst hunter we have. She provides food in the winter when we are snowed in. Without Houston, we would be desperate!
Onyx: Onyx is one of our three guard dogs. (Dandy and Taffy are the other two) He is the toughest. The only person he doesn't try to bite is Cat. Onyx isn't mean, but he was brought up badly.
Taffy: Taffy is one of our three guard dogs. He is always on the lookout. Unfortuantly for us, he is very energetic, so Cat must alwyas find some time to throw a ball for him. He loves working is more loyal than any dog Cat has met.
Honey: Unfortuantly for Cat, her mom is blind. Fortunatly, they have Honey. Cat's mom comes down to visit her quite often and whenever she does come, she can take care of Honey. Her other dog at home is afraid of heights and freaks on airplanes. Honey is brave, bold, and fun to be with.
Buster: Buster is always ready to play, but he has a more important job. He goes with Houston to hunt sometimes. Although he isn't as serious about his job as she is, he still brings back small game.
Juniper: Juniper's small job is actually just being friendly to people that come by. This little Smooth Fox Terrier never bites, scratches or runs away. She loves everyone and everything.
Max: Max is a gentle giant. He is SO big that Cat has to wear her lifts when walking him! He is so sweet to Cat though. He seems to worship her. His job is "guard dog" He doesn't actually guard, but his feirce bark and huge size intimidates everyone!
Gracey: Gracey's job is to just be nice. She hangs around the farm and makes sure nothing is wrong. she is Cat's right hand. She helps out with almost everything!
Penny: Penny is the fastest dog Cat has seen. Cat likes to take Penny for her evening runs. Her coat shines in the sunlight, but it gleams in the moon.
Justin: Justin is not very nice to children, but adores Cat. He keeps the cows in line. He doesn't herd them, but just barks whenever they do something stupid. Justin is very skilled and never messes up a command.
Hearts: Hearts is more of an outcast if anyone is. She was abused for the first four years of her life and still is wary of newcomers. fortunatly for her, Cat loves her more than anything. She was nurished back to health.
Moxy: This little girl is full of so much spunk you can't help but loving her! she never, ever hurts anyone and loves to herd the cows and horses around the property. If i didn't know any better, I would say she is the lead.
Cocoa: This is the sweetest Dachshund. He is never mean and loves to run with cat. He often slips into the horses pen and causes a stampede, but manages to get out without a scratch!
Ivy: Ivy is our top herding dog. He can get any animal to do whatever he wants. He is friendly and loves to run.
Ricky: Ricky is more of a show dog. He hates outdoors and loves to be fussed over.
Billy: Billy is our collie. He is the sweetest. He can herd, but he likes to just curl up besides the fireplace.
Sundancer: Sundancer is one of our three cows. She is great and is well trained.
Moonlight: Moonlight is our only bull. He is feirce and a great bull. He takes care of his two cows, Sunny and Diamond.
Diamond: Diamond is also a brood cow. She is trained, but not as good as Sundancer.
Regal Windsong: Melody is shy and sweet, but has a deep streak of competative nature in her. Her life was a normal one and she was nothing special. All the other horses picked on her because she was an Arabian, she didn’t know why they did so. Another shy filly had told her that at this stable Arabians used to come here all the time, they had a reputation for being snobs and having a huge ego. Windsong had become terrified by all the other horses and taught herself how to be different then the other Arabians. She was shy but when it came to events she became one of the most competitive horses there.
Heaven's Knight: Knight is brave, reckless and unbelievbly bold! He was trained by a tough rider. He rebelled instantly then learned to take it quietly. He disliked being trained but dealt with it. He found out he was going to be sold. He was going to have to say goodbye to his family and friends who had stayed by his side. He promised his mother he would be brave; and so he shall.
Killer in the Night: Killer is cruel and unpredictable. He was found in a forest by a near by ranch fully tacked up. He wore a black western saddle with a matching black bridle. They had silver markings on them and looked quite expensive. He also wore a black saddle pad. As soon as humans approached he reared at them and let out a chilling squeal. It took six men to finally bring him in. He was cooperating but you could see malice in his eyes. All he caused was trouble so they decided to sell him.
Nightshade
Looks can be decieving, can't they? For this filly it is the case. She, if left alone, can be very mischevious. Besides that, this filly is a sweetheart. She is easily attached to, and usually with follow those around that care for her, like a filly would do with her mother. She is very loving, and is soon to be a great horse.; very trusting.
Rondie
Rondie is a wonderful mare to ride, she is very young and can be somewhat of a butt sometimes. Either stopping before a long gallop, and begin bucking, or simply flirting with another equine while being tyed up. She is a sweet girl, and her gaits are smooth and enjoyable. Hopefully she will pull out of the habits soon.
