A painted carcass streaks the land. A neck coils and recoils, a flag waves proudly behind him. No hesitation marks his strides, for he pounds forward. Right above his neck flys his multi-colored mane. Peircing blue lanterns shine within the fire. He is looking for herd members. His mother, Phoenix, was busy keeping Red, his full blooded brother, under control, and had sent her son out on a mission to find horses. She had givin him no guidlines, for she wanted as many horses as she could get to rule with her, and she would scrutinize them when they came. A big, fruitful herd suceeds in winning battles. She told him to meet her and Red at the beach by the next moon with at least five mares. With a nod, he was off. A stony look to anyone made them back off. he was only interested in those who stood their ground. Onyx slowed to a jog, then a walk. Raising his nose to the air, he screamed out a pleasure call.

A black and white mare was lookeing around. She seemed lost and cautiose. She then went into a two beat. This mare was 1 spring old.It was shown that she was a pureblood painted arab. She perked her ears toward a call that was being carred with the wind. She then squeeled and then reared on her hind legs and then did a replying neigh.Thrashing in the air.And then went into a three beat. She then did a sharp buck and then did a small pounce. Her ears where to her skull. The vix halted seding gravel in the air.But then it landed. She lowwered her dish smelling that there was a horse here. She then did a loud whinny that echoed in the caves, and cliffs. She then perked her ears for any reponse. Did she really think he was that stupid? That he would leave the open area and go behind the rock? That he would answer a call that he had made? The mare should approach him if she thought she was of par. He heard the gravel skitter and skatter around her, and his ears flattened. An overconfident mare was never good news. Phoenix would hate her. She better respect him! The paint pricked his ears slightly, catching the sound of her slow, then speed up. He turned toward the sound, reading to catch her off guard when she comes barreling around the rock.

The painted goddess halted and then sniffed the air.And then reared highly thrashing through the air.She knew something was here. But she could not see it.She then went into a walk not noticing the brute behind the bolder. She flicked her tail at the blood suckers. She then perkerd her ears. And then went into a trot swinging her head up and down. And then went into a canter.

She was coming. He heard the echoes of her hoofbeats. As soon as she rounded the rock, he jumped out at her, snorting. He blocked her path by sticking his chest out, forcing the impact to fall against his braced front. He butted her with his forehead, a glint in his eyes.

The mare did a quick reaction. She then got on her hind legs and then reared. She then softly landed the ground. Her nares where blowing because of getting spooked. She then shook her dish. And then pawed the ground.
