BLACK ATTIC INCORPORATED. Hayden gave an angry sigh, tired of his attitude. I just went WAY out of my way to get that darn cat off you. That thing could have given you rabies, or some other blasted disease. Shut up and just sit there. She shot him a piercing glare, telling him he meant what she said. If she got attacked like that the first thing she would want is to get help. Jake had a few upon wounds which kept bleeding as the minutes dragged on.

BLACK ATTIC INCORPORATED. After a few long minutes of silent riding, they arrived at the large oak barn. It looked like something out of a catalog, well cleaned and glossy. Hayden dismounted Mondy and tied the two horses to the post for one of the grooms to clean and release to the pasture later. She reached into her pocket for her cell phone to check the time, 5:30. A rather short, round man made his way into the barn, staring at awe into the eyes of the champion racehorses that were resting in the stalls. The man's name was Dr. North and was notable around the country for helping with car accident victims and even people who suffered severe burns. He looked at the two before speaking, Let's see here. He said, exaiming the wounds. It's not infected, but he should take two of this antibiotics daily and should keep these wounds wrapped up. Apply Neosporin to it every morning and in a short while it should be good to go. After he wrapped up the wounds, Hayden gave him a concered look. He's suppoed to ride on of my colts at a race this weekened! Please don't tell me I've got to find another jockey. I would ride myself but I got suspended for three months because I puched another jockey in the jaw. The platinum blonde blurted, cleary stressed up by the situation. The doctor gave a calm smile. He should, if he's very careful and makes sure he follows my instructions.

BLACK ATTIC INCORPORATED. Hayden gave Jake a warning glare, cleary making sure he didn't try anything like that again. DON'T even try anything like that again. She said as she grabbed a grooming box, halter and lead rope. Hayden unlocked the door to a spacious stall with plenty of room to roll and lay down when needed. The fiery girl slipped the leather halter over the chestnut colt What'cha Berlin's head. He was named so because his mother was a German racehorse and no one is really sure where his father is from. She lead him over to the the grooming post, and without pausing she started to brush away any unwanted hair, shavings, and dirt stains. He was going to be breezed on the track by one of the exercise riders later this evening. The growing pressure of the upcoming race was starting to catch up with the girl. She knew everyone was out to get her at this race, especially Anna James's horses Britannic and Royal Chase.

BLACK ATTIC INCORPORATED. Hayden stopped and grapped the leadrope, almost as if she was trying to choke it. Berlin tossed his head, cleary feeling Hayden's rage floating about in the air. She half turned, looking down the long row of stalls. I should have let that thing eat you. She smirked, clearly used to hate more than she was to love. The only time she felt peaceful was when she was racing and after her three month suspension sentence she would have to wait longer to ease her growing misery. Who was the one who tired out a colt that's supposed to race in TWO DAYS and got help? Who was the one who suggestion shooting the mountain so YOU wouldn't have been torn to shreads? Oh, me think. ME! She stopped, remebering something her therapist had taught her. Breath Hayden, breath. she murmured to herself, getting back to grooming Berlin.

BLACK ATTIC INCORPORATED. She shrugged her shoulders, concentrating only on grooming the chestnut colt. She reached for her exercise race tack and decieded that this was the way to release her steam without punching someone in the eye. She only wish people understood the kind of pressure she carried on her shoulders every day, hateful glares being shot her way and all this misery was the result of her horses' success. People hated her because her racehorses kicked butt, but she didn't seem to care. Come Berlin, let's breeze. He'll be back, if he knows what's good for him. Besides, if I have scratch Fame out of that race, my reputation will be worse than it already is. Berlin, sometimes I think you and the rest of the horses here know a tragedy my life really is. She confessed to the colt, slipping on his white exercise bridle and saddle with "BAI" stitched on the silk saddle pad. She grabbed her helmet, books, and jacket and mounted the athletic equine. Berlin was an easygoing horse and didn't spook at much, fillies were a bit of an issue but Hayden refused to geld the son of The Lost World, one of their finest studs of Black Attic's history. She had one of her grooms lead What'cha Berlin into the starting gate, and the moment the doors sprung upon Hayden put the colt into a breezing gallop, careful not to over due it. The platinum blond had a life of racing experience and didn't need anyone to tell her otherwise. She knew what she was doing, and loved it. The colt kept his stride and easily covered the last turn to wards the homestretch. She dropped the reins, telling Berlin to give it all he's got. It was just like slamming down the pedal and killing the gas. Berlin shot out like a bullet and flew across the finish line. Perfect, this colt is just flawless. She pulled back on the reins and removed her helmet, holding it carefully in her lap. Still mounted, she stared off into the fading blue sky.

BLACK ATTIC INCORPORATED. Hayden rubbed her forehead with her gloves, slightly wishing she didn't give that jockey a punch to the jaw. He had insulted her, and her family. What was she supposed to do? Sit there and allow him to tell her she was a bitter disgrace to the racing industry, of course not! It had all started quiet simple, their two horses were standing next to each other being interviewed, and after the press had left a few people stayed being to see if they would see anything amazing from the two famous jockeys. She lunged at him, knocking them both of their horses and spat a few choice words at him, hitting him with a decent punch. All the remembers after that was being picked up by the track security. She had a nasty temper and she knew it, which is probably why she had chased off the only hope in the world she had. Good job Hayden, good job. Not.

BLACK ATTIC INCORPORATED.
[Early the next day]
Hayden checked her watch, 6:30 am. She was wearing her typical exercise track clothing and today was the final day before the big race tommorow. She was going to make sure Sudden Fame performed the very best he could. She waited for a stablehand to come and load Sudden Fame into the starting gate. He was racing against two other practice horses to make sure he was ready to race against other horses. The head groom was standing on the tower, stop clock in his head. He gave the signal for the gates to close. Hayden was in ful concentration, putting all her troubles behind her. The gates opened. The three horses jumped out of the starting gate, each keeping a good starting pace. She inched Sudden Fame away from the center of the two horses, she knew if he was boxed in he would never manage a win, let alone a place. As the starting gate grew closer, she let Sudden Fame do his job and go as fast as his heart desired. She swiftly passed the leader horse and crossed the finish line by a good two lengths or so ahead.
