The young mare eyed everything cautiously. She pricked her ears at all sounds, and jumped at the slightest danger. She was wary, but not afraid. she was just being careful. The checkered pattern on her coat attracted predators to her, for she didn't look like the other horses. Some considered her georgeous, some considered her discgusting. Personally, she didn't give a crap what other's thought of her. she lowered her nose to the ground and snatched up mouthful's of the sweet grass, awaiting another equine to wander into the vicinity.

[ » ] The auburn painted hessian took a good, long look of the place. It seemed safe enough, at least for him to find some sleep at anyways. He felt his optics flick around nervously, he wasn't taking any foolish chances with himself. The eight year old mutt carefully set off at a walk, too off track to sight see or even care about where he happened to be. It was a strange new land, the trees reached out from the earth and grabbed the sky in a choke hold. The sleek, dew covered grass was clinging to the soil for dear life as violent breezes tore apart the land with pure fury and aggression. The air had a strange taste to it, it wasn't as stale as the air of the mountains and wasn't as dry and cracked as the plains air. He spotted a large lake, the water sparkling like a faded diamond prepared for discovery. Disturbia pricked his dark bay harks and tossed his skull in a savage motion as a foreign scent flooded his nostrils as he walked forward. The czar stopped dead in his tracks, not a muscle in his body moving at all it seemed. I'm no longer a loner, it seems. he whispered to himself as he panted from the heavy galloping that had gotten him here. The equine hadn't ever felt so worn before, if only he wasn't being chased for his life.
[ » ] Disturbia was going to investigate, despite having all his senses pulling against him. Like a slender feline he picked up his irons and placed them back down with care. Had this unknown creature heard him? He had hoped not, he wasn't ready for any contact again after his brutal past.

Return to the BeginingThe taste of the air changed as
another being entered her realm. Without making a scene,
Return whipped around her head, her locks spinning, then
landing on her checkered neck after her. She strained her
opticals, capturing bits and pieces of the being before her. She
squinted and realized it was another horse. She took in a deep
breath of air and learned it was a stallion. she couldn't see
anything past that though. She wheeled around, watching with
anticipation. She tentatively took a step towards the horse.
Curiostiy killed the cat. Screw the cat. It was his own fault. She
took two more steps forward, then stopped. She pricked her
ears and remained silent. The smallish mare turned her dial to
face him, picking up all of the scents drifting through the air. She
swallowed her last chunk of grass, then kept her orbs fixated on
the stallion before her. Return was young, but she wasn't
naive. she had been through her fair share of drama and was
through with it all. she didn't believe in "love" between horses.
She had loved one other stallion. A pitch black stallion, with a
heart darker than the shade of his coat. She had fallen for him a
few years back, when she was only four summers of age. She
had been relentless, and finally he fell in love with her. Then, he
dissapeared. never came back. Return shook her head,
discgusted by her memories. She pricked her ears even farther
forward, creating an obtuse angle between her ears and the top
of her crest. She was ready for his next move, his next sound that he would emit. She focused all of her movements on him
and stood stock still, observing. Waiting, listening, watching...
