it's like the darkness is the light! Steven, or as he liked be called Stevie, walked into the strange room seeing a few riders sitting on the large, leather couch and a few looking at Horse Illustrated, picking out their favorite pictures and dreaming of which one they would have. Stevie had some horses of his own, in fact he enjoyed to show them and ride them around the town and in local parades. He had a reining gelding, a show jumping mare, and an endurance mare which kept him busy in all types of riding. He had moved from his home city of Seattle in the great state of Washington, in hopes of taking his riding and showing career farther. A handful of ribbons and trophies had stuffed his suitcase, the rest of his things were to arrive in a few days but Stevie figured he should make friend with the locals before he got comfortable around here. Stevie had walked from his small home, only a few blocks down the road near a small children's playground. It was a good place to live, since the weather here was forever plesant and the stable he boarded at was a short car drive away. Too bad his car was yet to be flown in.
Of the many people Stevie caught sight of, an attractive blonde haired girl happened to be sitting, staring at the T.V as if whatever she happened to be watching was somewhat interesting. He opened the small frige and was met by a rush of ice cool air, he blinked a few times and reached for the last Coca-Cola he could find which was hidden somewhere in the near back. Opening the can, he waited for it to fuzz down and took a nice, long sip of the refreshing drink. He hadn't had a soda in ages, it seemed.

it's like the darkness is the light! Stevie sat down on one of the open chairs, and picked up the latest issue of Horse Illustrated, a horse clearing a jump on the cover. This issue's breed was the Dutch Warmblood, Stevie happened to own one of his very own and loved that horse like nothing else. She was a reliable jumper who never did refuse or argue with that Stevie wanted. He flipped through the pages, his pale blue eyes glanced down at some nice, clean leather saddles that he was almost sure would be as much as this entire building. He was in need of a new bit, so he turned to the back and smiled as he read the listing for bits. They had everything you could ever desire in a bit, they had the Pelham and Snaffle with a page full of Curbs. He needed a bit of everything, but until his wallet and the rest of his supplies came in he was restricted and could only wait. Ghost Busters happened to be on the T.V, and a smile came to Stevie's face. He loved this movie when he was younger and even dressed up as one of the guys one year for Halloween. On the inside, he admitted to being a nerd but he didn't take any shame in telling himself that.
Closing the magazine and tossing it back on the table, he slid in his chair and watched the movie, he had forgotten a part of it.

it's like the darkness is the light! Looking up, his eyes met with those of the girl who was sitting on the couch a few feet away from him. At least the room was so, deathly silent as it had been before. Stevie hated silence, it annoyed him more than anything. Nice to meet you Aubrey, I'm Stevie. He kindly greeted and took another sip of his soda and looked down, he had managed to drink the whole thing in a few minutes. He was thirsty, but he had no idea it had been that long since he'd had something to drink.

it's like the darkness is the light! Chicago, Stevie went there a year ago for a show jumping competition. It was a great year, his Dutch Warmblood took first and he got enough money to help cover food and transportation costs for him and his horses for a while. Chicago, that's cool. I've been there once, for a show jumping competition. I moved from Seattle, Washington. He tossed his empty coke can and sighed, he still couldn't believe he was still thirsty. The airplane ride was long and the day before he left he had a reining show, which can hurt your muscles after a while. Luckily, he had managed to get some sleep on the plane ride and the flight attendent even gave him some free Chex Mix. It was somewhat tolerateble, for a plane ride. His horses were coming via trailer, and he knew he would have to let them adjust and get used to their surrondings before he worked with them again.
He wondered what this girl was doing here, sitting around indoors. Stevie wished he could he teaching his mare to soar over water jumps, they had begun to work on it but they hadn't gotten too far.

it's like the darkness is the light! He listended as the girl spoke, she sounded like she had a genereal interest in horses and riding in general. He ran a hand through his chocolate brown hair. I've got three. One is a dun Quarterhorse gelding I use to show in NRHA events, a bay Dutch Warmblood mare who show jumps and a black pinto Arabian endurance racehorse mare. He smiled as he thought of his horses, as he rememberd the time he and his Arabian endurance racehorse completed the fifty mile race the both of them had barely broken a sweat, it was a long distance but they beat the rest of the racers with ease. A ice cold water bottle and blue ribbon awaited them, it was a good day.

it's like the darkness is the light! He nodded, he had some pictures of them but they were on an airplane and who knows when they would arrive. They are, although sadly they won't be here for a few days. The driver is supposed to bring them sooner, but at this rate it'll take him a year. He complained, the driver had a tire that failed on the highway and that the horses ate all the hay and he was forced to stop and buy some extra feed. Stevie of course, had paid the driver in advance but he was not thrilled to find out it would be days later until he got his horses than he intended to.

it's like the darkness is the light! He kicked at a small piece of paper on the floor. "I hate moving, but if it's for the best I'm all for it. So, why did you move?" Stevie couldn't help it, he was curious. His mind began to wander, he had so much to do when he got back home it was starting to drive him in circles. Clean the stalls, prepare the bedding, and fix one of the barn door hinges. Perhaps he'd go and ride one of the horses at the boarding stable, because he had enough skill as a rider they let him ride their showjumper gelding. It was fun to jump for the heck of it, it's a dangerous sport with thrill.
