Hayden glanced over, but quickly refouced on to the race. She loved the competition, it filled her with pride when she left her opponent chocking in her dust. Karma Ryder stuck her head forward, stride by stride advancing on Jake and Blackbird. Hayden held Karma's reins tight as they made the first turn, facing the back stretch with only little distance between her and the finish line.

He asked for bit of speed so that they where head to head.He smiled as he was next to her.

Feeling the feel of the whip against her rump, the feisty pale black filly used her last burst ahead, extended her stride in order to cover more ground. Hayden loosened the reins, they had managed to hold the lead, it was now time to see if they could hold it to the end of the race. She glanced over at Jake, who was neck and neck with Karma Ryder. She cleared all the thoughts out of her head and whipped Karma Ryder once more.

Jake didn't use a whip he spoke to the horse with his body.Witch was very rare in jockeys.

Lunging her horse forward, she knew this was going to be a close call. It didn't matter who won, as long as she had a good jockey to race this weekened that's all she needed. Hayden concentrated on the finish line, barely touching Karma Ryder's reins. Ever eaten dust before? She teased, as Karma Ryder inched slowly ahead.

"Maybe?"He replyed. As then the last turn came then the straight away.He then waited for her horse to show a sign of tiredness. And the horse did he then had his horse go a bit faster then the other one.

Mysterious. She looked over at him, the two of them dashed over the finish line with ease. Jake and Blackbird remained neck and neck until they did, and Hayden was slightly impressed. As they slowed their horses down, she pivoted her horse to face Jake. I was wrong about you. I thought you'd be a waste of my money, but perhaps I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. No matter how unconvicing it is She raised an eyebrow, she didn't normally admit to stuff like that.

He smiled and then nodded toward her.And then dismounted and then took his and the other horses reins to wait for him to dismount so he could take care of him.

She dismounted Karma Ryder, telling one of the stable hands to take her back to the stable to be washed and cooled off. Hayden motioned for Jake to stop, she figured he deserved a break from working. Take this. She said, throwing him a cold water battle.

She leaned against one of the rails, trying to figure this guy out. So, Jake, how'd you end up here? She asked him, not really caring if he wanted to answer or not. She was wanting to learn more about the guy she just hired as her new jockey.

"Well I came out from a ranch in Texas.Where I raced some of the horses there. And then I got into an accident breaking two ribs and was in the hospital for a month and two weeks. And then I moved and then came here and my friend told me about this place."He said as he looked at her at twenty years of age,he was intrested in a nineteen year old.But he would wonder how it would end up.

Broken ribs, huh? Sounds painful but that's the exciting part of racing, not knowing if you're going to make it out alive. Texas? I used to live there. I've always lived here and that's how I plan to keep it. When I was a little girl my dad bought this stable and added on to it, he purchased some colts and they kept winning race after race. Let's just say you should pretty honored to be standing where you are because I've fired plenty of jockeys in my career. She looked at him, she didn't show much emotion but it wasn't like she ever did.

Hayden couldn't help it, it was in her nature. She took a refeshing sip of the chilled water, glad to have a drink right at her fingertips. Hayden hadn't going riding in a good week, so she was glad she could get an extra workout, even if it had to be shared with Jake. She didn't even know his last name. Have you ever raced in an actual race, with other horses and cash money?
