Hayden could feel herself softening up, just a bit and only just a bit. She looked over at Jake, still not letting him learn anything more than he already knew. I remember when I was younger, watching my favorite horse of all time, Les Misérables. He won by four lengths, ever since I watched that race I wanted to race and kick some serious butt while I'm doing it. I like the competition, the horses are pretty awesome as well.

Hayden kept on, still unsure on why she was sharing her past. That handsome fellow is named If The Shoe Fits, or Socks for short. I sadly never got to ride him but my ex-jockey did for a the first years of his racing career. Handsome horse, isn't he? She sighed, keeping her eyes fixed on the horizon.

She watched him as he softly stroked Socks's neck. The proud stallion lifted his head from grazing, but went right back to his daily grazing. Swishing his tail, it was easy to see his life was just as happy as any horse would want it to be. I hate that. We had a racehorse filly, I fell in love with that horse like crazy. I was riding her in a local race at the track downtown, and we were pulling off a two length lead when she tripped. Hayden paused, it was hard to force the tears from falling. She couldn't let him see the soft side, no one ever saw except for the horses. We both went flying head first, my left arm broke the fall and snapped it, I knew for sure it was broken and I couldn't do anything. I called that horse Keeper, and they had to put her down right on the track. She looked down, starting at her feet.

He sighed."It happens thats why horse racing is dangerouse.A lot of accidents happen when you don't expect it."He replyed simply looking at her."But she is a better place now."He replyed toward her looking at her.

She looked up. I've come to learn that, but racing is more than a sport for me it's my lifestyle. She concluded, finished with telling her lifestory to someone she'd met only a few hours ago. You know, I don't undertand you. Not one bit.

Hayden reached into her pocket and pulled out a case of Icebreaker sour mints, and sucked on one for a bit before bitting down into it. She figured she'd show him the trails, Hey, you! She said, leaning against the rails once mpre. Wanna go on a trail ride? I'm bored and I've got nothing better to do.

She raised an eyebrow. We aren't taking the racehorses. She pointed a finger towards a medium sized, silver barn. We'll be riding the Quarter Horses. A lot of people think we only do racing, but these horses are excellent trail riders and good for that sort of terrain. She walked towards the barn, not waiting on him to catch up. With a flip of her hair she unlocked the door, revealing a clean barn with rows of stalls that seemed to meet the horizon. You'll take Stevie there and I'll be riding Mondschein. She handed him the reins to an already tacked up Stevie, how was a buckskin gelding with a pleasent face and kind features. Hayden lead Mondy out of the barn, revealing his dappled gray coat.

He nodded and then went to Stevie and then petted to him and softly talking to him, doing easy movements toward him not wanting to scare him.He then put his halter on and then lead him out to the grooming area.

Hayden reached for her western styled bridle and saddle, carefully tacking up her horse. She brushed off any stray pieces of stray, and mounted the gelding. She trotted him over towards the grooming area, near the place Jake was preparing to tack Stevie up. Hey, Tex, what's taking you so long?
