Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition. She blinked a few times, bringing herself back to reality and away from her day dreams as the teacher called out her name. She had too many things weighing on her mind, the fact it was Halloween didn't help much either. Annie and Lynda always had plans, no matter what day of the week they had something to do. She was going to spend her night babysit one of the neighbor's kids, he was going to bring a pumpkin and she was going to carve it and light it and stick it outside. The pantry was stocked with candy corn, Halloween decorations here and there but not too obvious and "out there." Laurie looked down at her hands, they were shaking.
Before heading off to the school her father requested she place a key under the mat of a home not to far away from her house. It wasn't a plain and simple home, perhaps that's why it had shaken her some. The Myers home had been a source of local fear and "legend" ever since a six-year-old boy had taken the kitchen knife and cut his sister to bits. Her boyfriend didn't get off easy, either. Laurie could remember staring into the covered windows and running her finger down the screen door. All the while, feeling a strange sensation that a pair of eyes were staring at her. The seventeen-year-old bent down and slid the key under the mat, grabbing her books and going on her way. Laurie wasn't one to believe in ghosts, superstitions, or any rumors that this place was "haunted" but it sure felt like it could be. Rumor had it, a boy by the name of Micheal Myers was the culprit. Strange kid, Laurie thought as she sauntered down the sidewalk. Local authorities locked him, they said he had a pair of the most evil eyes. Perhaps, even the eyes of the Devil himself it not worse. He didn't feel any emotion, all he had was a pair of pale, blank, emotionless eyes and a butcher knife. She arrived at school, the feeling was just starting to settle in. This Halloween, would be the one that changed her, forever.
Laurie looked outside, that same car that had passed her moments ago had swiftly passed by the school. This time, it was parked and someone sat silently on the inside. That face, shielded with a pale Halloween mask. There's that feeling again. Hey, it's Halloween. People dress up. People scare people. It's only, Halloween. Laurie felt a jolt of relief as the bell rang, she had never felt so happy to get out of class before. Usually she enjoyed it, but not tonight.
She caught sight of her two friends, the only close owns she had. Annie and Lynda. There you guys are, I was looking for you earlier.

Lynda looked toward her and then said to her "Sorry me last period teacher is a real devil. He made me stay and hour for class.Just for accidently having my Ipod fall out of my pocket.Hey are you ok cause you seemed a little shaken?"She asked. For some reason she felt as if something was going to happen. And she was usually right. That she why she usually hated herself sometimes.

Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition.
[Silly, this is based in 1978. I don't know if Ipods were around then.]
Laurie blinked and looked at her friend, she had asked her something but it was taking time for it to set in. I don't know. It's Halloween I suppose, whatever it is I'm sure I'll get over it. she tried to cover up what she had felt earlier at the Myers home, but she wasn't going to bring that story. The last thing Laurie wanted was people poking at her and saying "The boogeyman is gonna get you!" and Laurie wasn't going to risk that.
Annie Brackett mumbled under her breath and rushed to join up with the two girls. They managed to brush past the footballl field and down the street. Strange, usually football didn't have practice this time of the week. Let alone on a holiday. Annie ran a finger through her wind blown, dark brown hair that was done up in curls. You two doing anything? I mean, Laurie is probably stashing her fortune from babysitting. What about you, Lynda?
Laurie took a few deep breaths, that house was only a block away.

"No.My parents are out of town and the took the everyone in the house with them.Except me.So what do you want to do later?"She asked her.She was really bored. She all of a sudden got a shiver up her spine. She closed her eyes and then sighed as she then looked back at her.

Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition. Annie smirked as a tan car sped ahead, her blunt attitude caught up with her. Hey, slow down would you? She laughed, Laurie shot her a warning glance. Whoa, don't do that! Annie clearly took some humor out of it, which was usually the case with all things that came out of her mouth. The car slammed on the breaks, which result in a loud pitch. Take a joke, would you? God, I hate a guy with a car and no humor. She muttered and rested a hand on her hip. Laurie didn't want to turn around, but something was pushing her to do it. It was that car, that car she had spotted driving past the school only moments before. Come on, I'm sure this isn't anything to worry about. It's a car, just car. I have a whole pumpkin to carve, and chemistry.
Annie giggled and contiuned to walk, the car had long since vanished. Laurie turned to face Lynda, she was surprised Lynda didn't have any Cheer plans or something going on tonight. I'm babysitting, carving a pumpkin, passing out candy and that's about it.

Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition. Laurie shrugged and started to wish these books weren't so darn heavy, she swore her back was going to give in one of these days. I will call you guys, whenever I manage to find the time. This kid is really big on Halloween, but then again I guess every kid is. Laurie wondered why they were going down this street. None of them lived here, but it was a quicker way to get back. Lynda's stop was first, and next Annie. Laurie wasn't prepared to walk down this road by her self. Not again. The small hairs on the back of Laurie's neck began to stand up, she lightly tapped her finger against her neck to feel a cold sweat dripping down her neck.
Laurie stared at the ground, as they slowly walked past a small beaten down house. No one had walked in, and back out again. They say no one lives there, and the boy had been locked up for good. Fifteen years is a long time to spend locked up in a mental hospital, that's for sure. Annie looked up and a big smile was slapped on her face. Oooh, look! She said and pointed towards the house that once, long ago, belonged to the Myers family. No one knew that name back then, these days it was a part of every talk. I know that place. It's the MYERS place! Annie laughed and skipped over towards the lawn. We'd better not......I mean, it may not be that stable of a house. Laurie shook in her shoes, she wasn't going anywhere near that house. Oh come on, afraid of the boogeyman? They say this kid, Micheal, stabbed the crap out of his sister. Then her boyfriend. Oooh, getting scared yet? She said and pretended to have a knife in her hand, she acted as if she was Micheal on his small killing spree. Laurie wasn't taking the joke, and stared into the dirty windows.

Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition. In a few short moments, both Lynda and Annie had made it back home leaving Laurie to wander the streets alone until she found her house. The sound of car wheels reached her ear drums, she titled her head around every so slightly. The tan car, was looking back at her. Her feet reacted before her brain did, they took off and Laurie was amazed she could run like this. Laurie anticipated the sound of the car chasing after her, but the only sound she could hear was the bumping of her sneakers against the pavement.
He was watching her, stalking her. He couldn't stop, until she was dead at his feet.
As she unlocked the house, she saw a young Jacob (I forgot the kid's real name) watching Physco and hiding underneath a blanket. Hey, your mom would flip if she saw you watching this. Come on, we have a jack-o-lantern to prepare. You get the paint, after I carve it we can paint it however you'd like. He jumped up and ran over to Laurie, blocking her way to the kitchen. Some kids at school broke my pumpkin, I have another one but they said the boogeyman was coming... to get ME! In a fearful gasp he shivered and started to chomp down on his fingernails. Calm down, there's no such thing as the 'boogeyman'. That's a story to spook kids like you.
The phone suddenly rang, as if it had to be asnwered that moment. She was praying it was Lynda or perhaps Annie, although Annie never did call this time of day. This is Laurie, hello?

Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition. Laurie shook of the day's events and made sure Jacob had turned the channel to something more his age. She sighed and slowly made her way up to her room, located upstairs. She stared at her unmade bed, she hadn't had enough energy these days even to make her own bed. Perhaps, most of the fault did rest on her but she figured she'd live. The room was a little hotter than it usually was. The fan was broken, her father still hadn't found the free time to fix it so she wouldn't spend her nights burning up. Laurie sighed and leaned forward, unlocking the small window locks and softly pushing out the window. Little did she know, that the moment she opened her life she'd see the face she'd come to fear.
The face was pale, but perhaps it wasn't a face. By the time she rushed to the ringing phone, the figure had vanished. In a blink of an eye. Her heart felt as if it were moments from exploding in her chest, on the other line there wasn't a whisper to be heard. Laurie cried out frantically, Hey! Who is is? It only took a few moments for Annie's distinct laughter. God, Annie! You know I don't like being tricked like that! she said, with frustration leaking in her tone. Laurie glanced out that window. Still spooked? Annie asked Laurie, knowing what her answer would be. I wasn't spooked! Laurie said with a defensive tone, although she knew if she was shaking this bad it was a sign. LIES! Annie Brackett had a way to mess around with her friends, but Laurie understood why she must have choosen her to target over Lynda. I wasn't! I saw someone standing in Mr. Riddle's back yard. Her voice trailed off as she looked over at the yard where the figure appeared. Probably Mr. Riddle! The curly haired girl twirled the phone cord with her finger, browsing through a gossip magazine. He was watching me! Annie couldn't help but giggle at Laurie's reply, it was too classic. Mr. Riddle was watching you? Laurie, Mr. Riddle is eighty-seven. Mister Riddle was known around the neighborhood for giving huge candy bars out on Halloween. He can still watch. Laurie argued, perhaps a trick-or-treater was taking off early. That's probably all he can do! Annie sighed and closed the magazine and threw it off her bed. Before Laurie had a chance to reply, the line was cut and all she heard was fuzz.
Lynda, please, please answer...... Laurie thought to herself, dialing her friend's phone number.

Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition. She sighed a sigh of pure relief, at least she answered this time with out scaring her. I think I saw someone in Mr. Riddle's back yard. Annie said it was Mr. Riddle, but that old can can't move that fast. Perhaps those kids down the street were getting an early start. Want to come over and help me carve this pumpkin? Laurie said as she tried to remove the top of the pumpkin, the next step was to take out all of the "guts" and let it dry for a few moments before carving the eyes, nose and face. Jacob happily sat in front of the televison, gasping as the villian in the movie took a hit at the good guy. She was glad she was downstairs, it felt strange up in her room. Laurie jumped as the doorbell rang, a few times to be exact. Jacob jumped up, his eyes lined with some kind of fear. Don't answer that! It could be the boogeyman! Laurie brushed off his comments as childish fears, but who was Laurie to think that? She was the one running off at her imagination. Here you go, happy Halloween! She greeted and dumped a good handful of candy into the kid's bags.

Laurie Strode! Well, kiddo, I thought you outgrew superstition. She took Lynda's words into thought. Right, it's only Halloween, right? Still, in the seventeen years of my life I've never been so, jumpy. You ever get that feeling you're being, followed? Jacob sat back down in the couch, reflecting on that tan car that had trailed him back to Laurie's home. Laurie was too busy focusing on the pumpkin to notice Jacob's face. His face looked pale, as if he had seen way too many horror films. Laurie knew what Annie was doing right now, sitting on her couch and cramming her brain with nothing but slasher flicks.
More children came, asking of course for some candy. Here you are. Their parents were tagging along side, talking about the recent news report they had heard. Laurie could barely make out what they were saying, but she caught just enough of it. Did you hear? That Myers managed to break out, they found a body of a worker that had left last night on the ground. Decapitated, rather disgusting to be honest. Laurie caught the name, Sam Loomis. The boy's doctor who made sure he spent the last recent fifteen years locked up, away from society. I also heard, Dr. Loomis claimed there was no cure for him. He had nothing behind his eyes, nothing. No emotions. No nothing. I don't know about you, but I do plan on walking a bit faster when we pass the Myer's home! They murmured, brushing past Laurie's patio.
Oh Lynda, this isn't good.
