Turning to face Lorrinda, he leaned up against the fence of the large round pen. Shoukran's ears danced from front to back, as if many things battled for his attention. Scout let the reins slightly drop from his hands, but he made sure Shoukran knew he was not to move about unless he was told he could do so. Shoukran jerked up his head, but the harsh bering rein pulled it back down. Chomping at the cool bit he pawed at the grass beneath his feet, and yet he had no desire to eat it. "Every day is somethine new, I suppose. I usually help some of the fillies and colts get used to being ridden on the track, and I sometimes re-train the retired racehorses to be later sold." Scout replied with a smile, his denim blue eyes had a strange new glow about them as the morning sun beamed down upon him. He hadn't had any breakfast, and yet he seemed to not be at all hungry.

Shoukran turned his head, the sound of another horse had unsettled him but he displayed no outter want to look any further. Scout knew stallions, and he knew them well. Shoukran was a very spirited horse, a nine if not a ten on the scale and needed a firm hand to handle and ride. Shoukran had known that a mare was near, he would easily pick up the scent in the breezes that tossed along side him. Scout tapped him with the whip to send him off at a lazy walk, after this he would allow the stallion to spend some free time in the pasture before he would come back and spend some saddle time with Shoukran. He needed to get used to the basic tack, and in someways the harness was a way to get Shoukran used to human commands and contact. "A good horse you've got, he's a bit of a pain but a handsome horse nontheless." Scout gave a faint smile, although it was hard when he was trying to focus on making sure he gave Shoukran the correct lead commands.

Scout liked Lorrinda's smile, it was soothing and brillant at the same time. A clever mind hid behind her crystal clear eyes. Scout had thought for a moment, before walking back over to Shoukran and slowly removing the harness. "Good boy, you've earned a bit of a break. Don't get too carried away, I want Lorrinda to ride you around for a bit." He whispered to the stallion and gave him a small sugar cube from his pocket. Shoukran's ears were trying to find a place to stay, and so back and forth they went. He tossed up his dished head, the sweet taste in his mouth so strange and wonderful all at the same moment. Such a strange, new sense. As Scout watched the horse walk around in the round pen, he sauntered back over to where Lorrinda was standing. He leaned against the fence, worn out from all the work with her stallion had tired him. "You know, you've got some very beautiful eyes."

Scout looked back down at the sandy ground before looking back up again. As usual, he didn't have the slighest clue as to what he was getting himself into. Shoukran's ears pricked as he heard the sounds of another horse, many horses at that. Leaning back, Shoukran lept into the air for a short rear. His hooves sliced into the air like a kitchen knife, leaving no mercy behind him. Shoukran pranced about, holding his head high and taking his pride with him. Scout ran a hand through his hair, and with that the light morning rays of sun made his hair look lighter than usual. He enjoyed the feeling of morning air, it was fresh and crisp. By now, Scout was used to the 5:30 am wake-up calls he got each morning. By ten in the morning he was done with all the basic chores and moved on to train and ride the horses. He smiled, he was always told he had a handsome smile. "Yea? Well, I like your hair." Scout paused for a brief moment, "If you're not busy this weekend, you know, would you like to maybe see a movie or something?"

She smiled and then looked at Scout.''Sure.''She said to him,and then looked at Shoukran as he showed his pride as the lead stallion here on the ranch.

Scout nodded and gave a smile, reaching for a bridle and slowly approached Shoukran. He'd have to take this slowly, as Shoukran began to glare at Scout as he got closer. Tossing the black leather reins across Shoukran's next the powerful creature stared down Scout, looking deeper into his blue eyes. "Come on, take the bit." Scout said with a firm, and yet at the same time it was also a bit soft and kind. It took a bit more force than Scout would have liked, but the bit was placed nicely into the stalion's mouth. He stood back and eyed Scout, kicking out with his hind legs as he Scout checked the saddle for any flaws. It was a nice, black leather genereal English saddle. "Sounds good to me, let's hope Henry will give me the day off." Scout brushed the hair from his face and handed Lorrinda the reins, she would have to ride Shoukran.

He smiled back at her in agreement. Shoukran took a step back as he felt weight on his back, he could feel her hands grasp the reins and her feet slip into the stirrups. Scout checked to make sure the stirrups were adjusted to Lorrinda's height, and left the round pen to allow the horse and rider their own space. "I'd ask for a walk first, and slowly begin to ask for a slow trot. Wouldn't wanna ask for too much, too soon." Scout offered up his own two cents of advice, but knew to let Lorrinda use what she knew about riding as well.
Shoukran threw up his head, surprised that there was no bearing rein to pull his elegant skull back down to his chest.

As his new rider slid her feet into the irons of the stirrup he could feel her hands grip the reins and push him forward. She kicked him with her boots, but he refused to budge any more than he already had. Shoukran enjoyed being a stubborn stallion, and he felt as if Lorrinda felt somewhat annoyed with his behavior. Shoukran gave a small rear, but not at all high enough to send his rider flying down to the ground. He pinned back his ears in a small anger fit, pawing at the ground and kicking out with his front legs. Shoukran moved forward at a lazy walk, he had no desire to move any faster than this anytime soon.
