Henry Dailey stood near the tack room of Antarah Equestrian, a newly built barn with just enough room to house the horses. He only knew of one racetrack here, but that would be plenty enough. Checking his watch, he breathed a heavy sigh and looked over at the Arabian mare, peeking out from the stall door. A girl by the name of Lorrinda had phoned him about a young stallion she had found, roaming about. Her request caught him off guard, but any racing prospect sounded good to him. Lorrinda had said, he had the blackest of coats and a small star on his forehead. His eyes, had a fire about them. It was a charming flame, that burned in any weather or time ot day. No matter how beat down the stallion was, Henry knew that kind of horse would never break down. The description reminded him a lot of the Black in some ways, both mentally and physically. Could there be any relation? Perhaps, the only way to tell would be if he caught sight of the horse.
Scout Williams held the small saddle and bridle in his hands and laid them down on a stash of hay. The lunging harness was already there for him, and that saved him a trip all the way back to Henry's truck. He had gotten a job from the old racing trainer, after he heard the wonders he had worked with the Black he wished to perhaps learn some of his well kept secrets. So far, he had only been cleaning stalls and working the racehorses before they went off to race. Scout's charming blue eyes went nicely with his smooth, rich brown hair.

Henry nodded and adjusted the cap on his head so it didn't look so rushed. That's me. I'm really eager to show me that horse, is he here? He said and smiled at the lovely Arabian mare, she had some descent of other breeds but perhaps she was not on hundred percent pure. Then again, any Arabian you come across was a purebred these days. He shook her hand and nodded.
Scout sighed, his riding pants where covered in dirt, dust, and horse hair but this was clean compared to how he got on most days. Hello, I'm Scout. He adjusted the reins on the bridle and sat it back down on the hay stash, not wanting to disturp the other tack he made sure it lay perfectly.

She smiled and then looked toward Scout."I'm Lorrinda."She said."Follow me and I will show you what you came to see."She said. And then grabed a red halter and lead rope. And then went to a pasture and then climbed a pasture fence. And the whistled even though she had for a week.He was already trained to come at the whistle,or they had a magical bond.

Shoukran shook his head, and in a charging gallop he kicked out with his front legs. The pasture was long enough to suit his running and kicking needs, he tended to do that a lot when he was feeling spirited. That whistle, was burned into his head and although he urged to run off again he remained. Where on earth was he going to eat fresh grass without fighting for it? His regal appearance was cleaned up, the rats removed from his mane and tail and his coat had gotten a good brushing. He felt pitty for the poor groom that day. As soon as he put the brush on Shoukran's coat he had kicked him, square in the face.
Henry Dailey couldn't believe what his eyes were telling him. No, it couldn't be. Then again, it must. Intresting. You say you caught him? Scout, doesn't he look at awful lot like The Black. He sure does act like him as well. Henry stood and watched as the youthful stallion pawed at the ground and tossed up his head. He surely, had the wild still in him.
Scout smiled at Lorrinda. He was not going to lie, she sure was attractive and had a lovely smile as well. Scout was careful not th mix that with his job. After all, he had horses to exercise and nothing needed to slow him down.

Lorrinda looked at Shoukran."Hey easy boy,it's ok.Sorry about that,he isn't really used to anyone else except for me and Jamilah."She then petted his face softly until his breathing slowed down.

Shoukran lifted his head and silenty stepped over to the side. The sight of more people made him feel more hyper and charged than he had already felt before. Lorrinda's soothing was not helping his energy level much anyways.
Henry turned around to face Lorrinda. I'm almost sure of it. This horse is an own son of The Black, I can just tell it by his eyes. No other horse has eyes like they do. I suppose he could do well racing. He for sure, has the energy for it. After the two of them managed to break him under saddle all it would take is some simple tweaking until they had him trained just right. A good jockey and plenty of support for sure, would send the young creature to the winner's circle. He looked as if, any obstacle he faced was nothing in his eyes.

Shoukran tossed up his head and went off in a steady canter, he evidently felt the needed to move. He wasn't much of a horse who indeed, enjoyed remaining in one place for too long. His muscles worked along with him as he hopped over a chunk of grass laying in his path.
Henry nodded, That's right. I'm guessing he must have been on of the yearlings that managed to escape from the back pasture. He looked over the horse, who had all the features his sire did. Lean legs, a strong build and a powerful dished head and with a pair of handsome eyes. The only test to come would be what he did at the track. Henry could usually tell right from the start if a horse had it in them or not, and this midnight black creature obviously had the fire to run faster than all the others. A jockey? Henry did not think of that before, he knew he wouldn't be able to put just anyone on the horse's back.
Scout looked over at Henry and then back at Lorrinda. They wanted him to ride the horse? Although he had been getting lessons from a few very talented jockeys he wasn't so sure he could handle the challenge. Then again, he had nothing to loose. What, me? I guess so.

Shoukran shook about as if he were a ticking bomb ready for the push to explode. The weight upon his back was nothing new, but it had been many years since he had been expected to do much. The handsome creature pawed at the pasture's ground. There was plenty of space for him to race the wind, and if he felt like it to let this rider know what he was in for. Be good could mean the exact opposite to some, and Shoukran was one of them. Snorthing he awaited for Lorrinda to release her hands from his handsome face. His eyes burned like kerosene to a wildfire, the preparation to take off was starting to unsettle the horse. He felt the cold metal bit in his mouth rub against his wet tounge. It had taken poor Lorrinda ages to stuff that thing in, and the small racing saddle could barely be felt by the horse. The farrier had been kicked and bitten, but by the time he had been shod the farrier demanded that Shoukran be locked up somewhere, far away. He couldn't help himself, the satisfaction of teaching that old fart his lesson was too great for Shoukran to pass up. He did not wait for the rider to slip his feet into the stirrups. Tossing up his head he dashed off at a steady lope which slowly slipped into a rushed gallop. Every few strides Shoukran would kick up his heels and let out a content neigh. Running at a much swifter pace, he sharply turned to the right and pivoted back around as if he could not pick one direction to go in. He planned on running the entire outside of the pasture until he would trot back up to the other people waiting for him.
Henry Dailey watched the horse as he ran, he sure did like to give people hard times. Have you worked him much yet?
Scout held on to the reins and simply allowed the stallion to run. He knew not much could be done to slow him down or alter his direction, this horse was far more spirited than any colt or filly back home and sure had more fire.

"He woudn't do anything after a saddle was put on his back.He would act as if he had seen a ghost."She said to him.She had to admit Scout looked really good on horseback.Even if the horse was out of control.

Shoukran snorted, the hot air from his nostril moving him another stride on. He reared up on his hind legs and leaped over a pile of dead grass that lay in his path. He for sure wasn't going to go around the obstacle, and jumping it seemed more reasonable. Jumping felt natural to him, almost as if light wings upon his back guided him up into the air and over the patch. He could feel the reins tighten around his neck, which resulted in Shoukran tossing up his head once more. Shoukran had his fun, and went on to trot over to the fence where the man and the girl stood. He could feel their eyes looking over him, evaluating his behavior and what needed to be fixed. I'll show you. his eyes seemed to translate as his eyes met up with the trainer's. He knew this man, he had tried to halter break him only days before the big breakout. He stood proud before them, tossing up his head and he stood.
Henry knew this stallion would test all of their limits. "Strange. I'm going to guess he's about four years old, which is late for any racehorse but the way he ran might prove me wrong. With a few hours of getting him used to the saddle, it won't be much of a problem."
Scout shrugged and let go of the reins. The horse for sure, had given him the ride of his life. He couldn't imagine what Shoukran had in store for him, whenever they practiced on the racetrack near the front of the equestrian center. Antarah was a nice barn, Scout liked it very much indeed.

Lorrinda watched and then looked at Scout, and then looked away as her mare let out a neigh wanting to be with her buddy.
