Dakota tried her best to keep up with Red. She could hardly believe that in high school she was the track team star. She tried her best not to run into people while they weaved around the living room and out into the open. The barn was pretty far away, but she knew it'd be smarter just to walk. Red was moving faster now, Dakota figured this was a pretty big deal. She hadn't really been much of an expert on foals, she got Scream Queen when she was six months old but she wasn't there when she was foaled. Red must be worried, but his face had a nuetral expression on it. Dakota herself was never the kind to show feelings on the outside, most of the time when she was sad or angry she always kept to herself. No one could tell what she felt for the most part. By the time they reached the barn, Tracy was rushing around to make sure everything was where it should be. Scream Queen was obviously annoyed and riled up by this, she tossed up her head and pricked her ears at Dakota.

Red entered the stable and saw the bay mare was indeed going into labour. Her pain was clear, as she let a cry of pain. He sat near her head and began to stroke her and whisper into her ear. She was soothed slightly by his words. "Dakota ready the towels for when the vet comes" he said calmly. {Wanna play the vet?}

[Sure!] Dakota walked over to where a stack of towels had been prepared and picked them up. She heard the sound of a car locking, and shoes clicking against the cement. A middle aged woman with a kit that appeared to have everything in the world in it walked into the barn. She hung up her phone and blinked as she saw the three people huddled around the stall. "Hello, you called about a mare in labour?" She ran a finger through her long, sleek black hair and focused her pale blue eyes on the mare. She was panting, but one thing she noticed was the mare couldn't have been like this for very long. Alicia Belmont had been working here for years, she had helped many of the mares and their foals and this wasn't anything new.

[Sure!] Alicia scanned through her box of vet supplies, medicines, leg wraps, and the usual common things. Of course, the better thing would be to allow this mare the peace and quiet she would need in order for the foal to arrive safely. "No, it won't. However, I know from experience that if we just give her some time and monitor her heart rate she should deliver a healthy foal." Scream Queen was dancing on her feet at all the commotion, Dakota shrugged and thought that perhaps moving her outside into the pasture for the night would be best, for the mare's sake. She clipped her leadrope on the filly's halter and lead her outside out into the large, empty pasture normaly used for turn-out and such. "Sorry about that, Queenie gets loud sometimes."

[Sorry for the delay.]
She looked back up at Red, she needed to find out a bit more to see if the mare had any problems she should be aware of. "Red, has she been acting weird at all? A lot of the horses at the clinic have been acting out of character the past few days." She stroked the mare's sweaty neck, and stood back up. "She's breathing fine, and her heartrate is normal. As long as no other complications get in her way, she should deliver this foal very soon."
Dakota nodded and leaned against the stall door, looking in at the mare. She was hoping she would deliver a healthy foal. There were too many cases in where she would know of a mare who delivered a foal who died within hours of life. This mare however, had a light in her eye. She knew the foal would be coming soon.

{No I am soooo sorry! I thought the rp was dead and forgot to check up on it!} Red shook his head, sweat dripped off his pale forehead. He struggled to control his overwhelming emotions for Romance's sake. Praying silently he continued to whisper in the mare's ear and stroke her neck. Anything to keep her calm. "Dakota come here, Alicia and I'll need you to help us when the foal arrives, Trace go and keep the other staff at bay. The mare needs as much air as possible and more people will freak her out." He ordered.
